What Is SPRAVATO®?

SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved medication specifically for adults with major depressive disorder who have not improved with at least two other antidepressants. SPRAVATO® is not a replacement for your antidepressant, it works alongside it to support better results.

SPRAVATO® is a nasal spray you must take under the close supervision of a licensed provider. It’s not a pill and isn’t taken at home. Because it works differently from standard medications, many people are hopeful again, even after struggling for years.

Most antidepressants target serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine in your brain. These medications can take weeks or even months to show improvement, and you might find that these drugs simply aren’t enough.

What to Expect During Treatment

At Prestige Clinic, we want you to feel informed, relaxed, and safe. SPRAVATO® is only given in person at our clinic, it is never prescribed by telehealth or given at home. Here’s what you can expect:

In-Person Consultation: You’ll meet with one of our licensed medical providers for a full evaluation. If SPRAVATO® is the right option for you, we’ll create a treatment plan that matches your needs and goals.
On-Site Treatment: SPRAVATO® is self-administered under provider supervision. You’ll spray the medication into your nose while sitting comfortably in a private treatment room.
Monitoring and Support: After each dose, you’ll stay in the clinic for at least two hours. Our team will monitor you to ensure you feel well and answer any questions you have.
Ongoing Care: SPRAVATO® is typically given twice a week for the first four weeks, then less often as you progress. We’ll track your improvement and adjust your schedule if needed.

Is SPRAVATO® Right for You?

If you’ve tried two or more antidepressants and still struggle with depression symptoms, you may be a candidate for SPRAVATO®. Our providers will assess your history, current medications, and overall health to decide if this treatment is appropriate.

However, SPRAVATO® is not for everyone. It is not used to treat anxiety, bipolar disorder, or substance use. You must meet the criteria for major depressive disorder, and all consultations are done in person.
